Terms of Use

Last updated August 27, 2026

These terms apply when you install, purchase, or use Hearstead. By using the extension, you agree to use it lawfully and at safe listening levels.

The product

Hearstead enhances audio from one supported, user-selected Chrome tab. Chrome platform behavior, protected media, website changes, device configuration, and source quality can affect availability and results.

Free and Premium

The Free plan includes the features identified as Free on this website. Hearstead Premium is offered for $4.99 USD as a one-time payment with a non-expiring license for the purchased product. It has no automatic renewal.

"Lifetime" refers to the non-expiring purchased license. Continued operation depends on compatible Chrome platform behavior, supported hardware, and the product remaining technically supportable. Planned future features are not guaranteed to ship on a specific date.

License and activations

Premium grants you a personal, non-transferable right to use the paid features within the activation limit shown at checkout. You may deactivate an installation to release an activation. You may not resell, share publicly, automate distribution of, or attempt to misuse license keys.

Payments and refunds

Lemon Squeezy acts as merchant of record for checkout. Taxes may be added where required. Refunds are handled according to the policy presented at checkout and applicable consumer law.

Safe listening and audio quality

Start with low system volume, especially above 300%. Amplification can expose noise, codec artifacts, clipping, or distortion already present in the source. Hearstead's peak protection reduces digital peaks but cannot guarantee safe acoustic output from your operating system, amplifier, speakers, or headphones.

Acceptable use

Do not use Hearstead to violate law, platform rules, copyright, access controls, or another person's rights. Do not distribute modified copies under the Hearstead name or use the software to interfere with Chrome or websites.

Disclaimer and liability

Hearstead is provided on an "as available" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the publisher disclaims implied warranties and is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential loss. Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot legally be excluded.

Changes and contact

Material changes will be reflected on this page before the changed terms apply. Questions can be sent to support@hearstead.com.
